Vulnerability: your best friend and worst nightmare

Yeah, it’s difficult putting yourself out there for others to judge however they want. Sometimes it’s downright naive to trust people with your secrets. But what happens when you give another person the opportunity to know your thoughts, and see into your world? They just might become a big part of it.

Some of our deepest relationships are formed from uncomfortable circumstances. We are humans, programmed to resist weakness and vulnerability yet we crave connection and intimacy with others. When people share things with us, we feel our connection with them strengthen. Finding someone you can count on is both relieving and empowering, yet it can only be done when we are authentic. Bring vulnerability into your relationships and watch your connections grow; be unafraid of the repercussions because the reward is far greater. ❤

When I read this post I kept thinking to myself… “This is so true.”. We all put ourselves into a position that we are so afraid of, and that is a position of vulnerability. We are all so scared to be vulnerable, but sometimes that can be the best position for us to be in.

I know of someone who doesn’t get close to anyone so that she can be who the other person needs her to be. So sad. And I dislike that she pretends. I can’t even get through to the person who she is doing this to. Once again, so sad. I think it’s wonderful to have friends. People who you can trust and share with. I think it’s healthy and helps us to grow as people. Lovely post.
